Statement of Intention

“The seat of the soul is where the inner world and the outer world meet, where they overlap, it is in every point of the overlap.” Novalis

I create abstractions. By absorbing place and life events my work is a synthesis of self awareness- what is within- and the influences of my outside environs.

My images originate in the natural world and my work expresses my affinity for the organic. I build and reduce visual planes through a pictorial syntax of layered impressions.

The work is about the belief that life is made up of a continuum of contrasting elements, essential to each other, which creates balance and a sense of order in existence and, therefore, gives each element structural purpose.
